It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas....

Firstly, I must apologise for being so slack with my blogging lately.
Life has been busier than usual, as I'm sure it is for all of you at this time of year.

We had a really fun weekend at Scrap Pile a couple of weeks ago. All the DT members ran Christmas classes & everyone got into the Christmas spirit by creating loads of lovely projects.
I ran 2 classes.
The first was for a cute set of chipboard fridge magnets. They make a great gift for teachers, friends or family.
Here is my finished set.

I made the little box on my Cricut machine to present them in, & tied it up with a pretty bow & added a tag.

My second class was for a Gift Card Holder. It's a lovely way to present a gift card & can be adapted for any occasion.

If you'd like to see all the classes, just head over to Scrap Pile & join up.
This is another project I did for Christmas. I bought a Kaiser Panorama Frame & made this pretty Christmas plaque to hang on the wall. I've used a combination of Making Memories, Cosmo Cricket & Kaiser papers & the gorgeous poinsettia flowers are also Making Memories.

I've been busy getting all my Christmas cards made also. This lot I did over a few days & ended up making 41 cards!!! I set myself a bit of a challenge too. I wasn't allowed to buy anything new, I had to use up all my older Christmas papers & embellishments.
My term on the design team at Scrap Pile is finishing at the end of this month so they are looking for a new card maker to take over the position.
If you are interested in being on a design team, I'd really recommend you give it a go & put in an application. All the information can be found in the forum & applications close on the 14th December.
They are the greatest group of girls to be a part of & you will thoroughly enjoy it.

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well :)
I'll be back soon with some new projects to share.

Quick Little Update

I have a few more cards to share from my DT kit this month.
I've used some more of the Scenic Route Sonoma paper on this one, teamed with some Teresa Collins. The green spot is the reverse side of this paper & the other side has a huge variety of gift tags, the round tag on here is one of them.

This card I've made for a very special person, my daughter Chloe. I really am so very proud of her achievement in getting this far in the SYTYCS competition. With only 2 rounds left, I'm confident she has what it takes to go all the way.
Chloe, congratulations & well done. You have an amazing talent & I'm so happy that you gave this competition a go. Now everyone gets to enjoy your stunning creations :)

This uses more of the gorgeous Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers & die cuts.
Have a great week :)

6 Weeks Til Christmas!!!

Hope I didn't scare you, LOL, but Christmas has been on my mind quite a bit lately.
This month at Scrap Pile our challenges are all Christmas themed.
My challenge is to create a Christmas card which features some vellum & bling.
I haven't used vellum for ages but it can give a lovely effect especially on a Christmas card.
Here's my card

Over the weekend I decided I'd like to make an OTP item with the remaining contents of my DT kit & this cute little butterfly came together very quickly & was whisked away even quicker by my DD to put in her room.

The chipboard butterfly is making Memories, I've had it in my stash for a little while.
The papers are Basic Grey Urban Prairie & I've added some Maya Road scrolls which I've painted & coated with glitter.

We will be running some great Christmas classes at Scrap Pile during the last weekend of November. Come along & join us & get some wonderful ideas for some projects you can make for Christmas.

My very talented, beautiful daughter, Chloe, has made it all the way through to Week #10 in the SYTYCS challenge. This is the third last week & she has created 2 absolutely stunning layouts, so if you can spare some votes, I know she would dearly appreciate it.
Here are her gorgeous layouts-

Thanks for stopping by & I hope your week is a great one :)

I'm Back!!!

I hope you didn't think I'd fallen off the planet, LOL. It has been a while hasn't it?
I had a box of goodies arrive in the mail on Friday so I've been having a bit of fun with the contents. I've managed to do 3 cards this weekend & here they are.
This one is for a lovely lady at our school who's act of kindness has made a huge difference to my daughter's confidence during her school swimming lessons.
It uses Making Memories Noteworthy 2 Addie paper, some gorgeous new Green Tara flowers & a beautiful bling flourish from Prima.

With this second one I finally got to play with some pompoms. I've been hanging out for the Maya Road pompom trim to arrive, it's so cute.
The paper is Scenic Route Sonoma & I've used a MME transparency & some Blueye Dezine felt ribbon.

and lastly, on this one I've used the absolutely gorgeous new Urban Prairie range from Basic Grey. I really love the colours in this range.

I hope to be back soon with a few more cards to share.
Take care & be happy :)

An Unfortunate Event

Well it's been quite awhile since I posted last. Have had a fair bit to deal with lately.
One day last week, while I had popped down to the shops for about an hour, some selfish, uncaring parasite broke into my home & helped themselves to my laptop & jewellery.
I can't explain the feelings I've had since that moment. To have your safe place in the world, violated by a stranger & your personal belongings thrown around without regard, is really quite upsetting.
Now I understand that some people have it hard or are experiencing difficult times, but I myself have had to live through some very hard times too, & I never took something that wasn't mine or made someone else pay for my situation. It's just no excuse!!!!!
I truly hope that one day this person realises this, feels remorse & decides to make a more positive contribution to society through their own hard work & integrity.

I haven't created much at all lately, just haven't felt like it really.
I did get my Christmas cards done for a swap at Scrap Pile.
I also made this card last weekend from CPS sketch #86.
It uses some Kaiser papers, a flower die cut from the new Basic Grey range, Granola & some very cool trim from the shop my DD works at.

I'm also very happy to say that my daughter, Chloe, is still in the SYTYCS competition.
This week she takes on Round #8.
She has a little giveaway on her blog at the moment, so please drop by & wish her luck.
That's about it for me, take care :)

Round & Round

This month we have started a new format at Scrap Pile. We are no longer holding a cyber crop each month. Instead, each week, one of the design team members hosts a Friday chat night along with a game & the announcement of their weekly challenge.
Tonight was my first turn & it was heaps of fun.
My challenge is to make a circle shaped card. I had never made one myself before this & I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed it. There was something very refreshing about the new design space.
Here is my card.

I've used pretty well all Making Memories products.
The papers are Garden Party & all the embellishments are from the Animal Crackers range.
Hope you enjoy trying a circle card of your own if you get the chance :)

Lazy Days

We are enjoying the school holidays so much. I really love having a little sleep in & being able to just take the day as it comes. We haven't been anywhere exciting yet but have had lots of fun at home. We've been baking, playing games, games & more games & really appreciating the sunshine that we've had this week. Winter is on it's way out, touch wood, & it should continue to get warmer from now on.
I can finally show my card from my Blind Card Challenge from the WCMD cyber crop on Saturday. It was great to see how different they all turned out.

I've also been busy with my DT kit for this month. I got a little sidetracked last week with WCMD but have got back into it this week.
I really mixed it up this month & chose lots of different things. I got a pack of Inque Boutique Cabana Felt Shapes, which had heaps in it, so you'll see little felt bits on a few of these cards.

This first one is for my little girl to celebrate her big venture into swimming lessons. She's loving her lesson each week, Tuesdays just can't come fast enough now, lol.
I've used Creative Imaginations PP on this one.

For this one I've used Cherry Arte PP. The flowers were part of the pattern & I've cut them out & used them to embellish the flap on the card.

I love this new Prima Angelique Heavenlies paper.
The black is one side of it & the aqua is the reverse side. The frame is from the felt pack & a bit of one of my favourite ribbons.

These next 2 are fresh of my table today.
This one is just a fun little card for a boy. It uses a few different Cosmo Cricket papers, a bit more of that felt & the little monkey sticker is Creative Imaginations.

Lastly, this card is also lots more Cosmo Cricket PP & chipboard.

Gee, that was a bit of an epic post. I thought I'd better do it all in one hit because I'm likely to forget while in this laid back mood, lol.
Hope you are also enjoying the holidays, if you're lucky enough to be having them at the moment.
We've only got 5 days left so I'd better make the most of it.
Thanks for popping by :)

World Card Making Day Fun

What a blast WCMD was this year.
My daughter & grand daughter came over for a day full of card making & fun.
Chloe was on a streak & managed 7 gorgeous cards which was a lot better than my grand total of 4.
Over at Scrap Pile we ran a 12 hour cyber crop in honour of this important day. Each DT member offered up their own challenge & we even had one for the kids so they could get in on the fun too. They had to make a card using the primary colours, red, blue & yellow.
Here's the card my little girl made. She's 6 years old & often hangs out in my craft room with me working on her own cards. She's got all her own bits & pieces to work with & seems to really love making pretty things too.

My challenge was a blind card challenge but I can't show you the card yet as the girls still have until midnight to upload their creations & I have to keep mine hidden until then.
We also had lots of fun games as usual & I hope eveyone enjoyed the day as much as I did....can't wait til next year already, LOL.
The very special Melissa Phillips & WendyJohnson were also running a fun challenge on their blogs, to make a card using felt. I just had to play along with this one as I love using felt on cards.
Here's what I came up with, very late last night. Thanks for the great challenge Melissa & Wendy :)

Hope you had the chance to enjoy WCMD in your own way & got to create lots of gorgeous cards while having heaps of fun.

I Am Such A Bad Blogger Friend

I apologise sincerely for being so late in acknowledging & thanking two sweet friends who have been kind enough to give me awards....not so recently now.
I was very happy to receive them but have been so busy that I keep forgetting to say thank you & pass it on.
The two dear friends in question, are Ros & Suzanne, who have both given me this award

Now I am supposed to pass this award along to 7 of my favourite bloggers, so here goes.

Chloe - who is my very beautiful & talented daughter, & who I love with all my heart.
Mel - the sweetest friend a girl could have.
Leah - is such a kind & generous person who has inspired me very much.
Maree - oh my goodness, this lady is a riot, & a very special friend too.

I'm sorry but I can only come up with 4.
I know these girls will want to pass it on to mutual friends so I don't want to hog everybody.

The rules for the award are - (1) The winner can put the logo on their blog. (2) Link the person you received your award from. (3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs. (4) Put links of those on yours. (5) Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

Once again, thank you for the honour Ros & Suzanne.

Chloe's SYTYCS Round #3 Entry

I wanted to show you all my daughter, Chloe's, entry for this current round of SYTYCS at Scraptacular.

Isn't it so cool???? I just love this LO.
If you can spare a vote or 2 for Chloe, I know she'd appreciate it sincerely.
Let's see if we can help her get through to heat #4, because I'd love to see what she'll come up with next.
If you'd like to vote, registration at Scraptacular is required & you'll need a minimum of 30 forum posts to be eligible also. It's pretty easy to achieve, just play a few of the games & the 30 posts build up very quickly.
Good luck Chloe!!!!!!

Cyber Crop Finale Fun

WOW!! We had such a great cyber crop at Scrap Pile on Friday night.
It was our last one for the year & also Leah's last CC on the DT. It won't be the same without her, I've thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to work alongside such an incredibly beautiful person. Leah, you have been an inspiration to me in so many ways & I thank you sincerely for all the help, kindness & friendship you've given me. Wishing you the very best of luck for the future in everything you do.
Getting back to the CC, I managed to win my first game of bingo!!! It only took me a year to do, LOL.
Our theme was "Spring Fling" & my challenge for the night was to make a card featuring a butterfly & stitching of some kind.
This is my card. I've used MME papers & Fancy Pants butterfly diecut & words.

Mel's challenge was to make a layout using flowers you've made yourself. OK, I did cheat & make a card instead but I think she'll forgive me, lol.
I made my flowers from fabric. These are called yoyos or sometimes Suffolk Puffs. They're really quick & fun to make, I actually made a cot coverlet out of them for my DD when she was a baby.
I've zigzag machine stitched the stems & the papers are from Wild Asparagus.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

A Quick Update

Here's a few more cards I made from this month's DT kit.
These both use K & Co "Hopscotch" papers & matching tags.
They are great for little boy cards.

Our cyber crop is a little early this month. We are having a "Spring Fling" theme this month so if you'd like to stop by for some fun & challenges, it's all happening this Friday night at 7.30pm (AEST)

She has made it through Heat #1 & so has progressed onto Heat #2. Congratulations !!!!!!
If you would like to vote for Chloe, you need to register at Scraptacular & make a minimum of 30 posts in the forum to be eligible.
I know she would really appreciate any votes you are willing to give, & I know I'm possibly a little biased, LOL, but I think her LO for this heat is just so incredible.

Here is her layout....don't you agree??

Wishing you the best of luck Chloe :)

I'm Not Forgetful !!!!

Well not all the time anyway, LOL.

My dearest daughter, Chloe, reminded me yesterday that I haven't posted my Father's Day project yet, so thanks to her, here it is.
This was my challenge for the August cyber crop at Scrap Pile.
The idea was to make a special keepsake type card for Dads. It's a great project to include your children with. Each child has their own 2 page spread. On one side you can place a photo of them with their Dad & on the other side they can write their personal message to Dad for his special day.
I've used some fantastic double sided paper by Dream Street that is actually already diecut into 4, approx 6" x 6" squares.

Thanks for reminding me Clo :)

Busy, busy, busy

Wow it's been busy in my little part of the world lately. There always seems to be so much to do & I've neglected my poor little blog I'm afraid.
I have a few things to share that I've been working on.
These are the first of my cards for the September DT kit from Scrap Pile.
I chose some papers from the "True" range by Fancy Pants. They are double sided so they give you lots more options which I love.
With this one I've paper pieced the tree from a pattern on Scrapbooks Etc & added a cute little Collections chipboard owl.

Here's another one using the same paper range. Thanks for the loan of your huge scallop circle punch Chloe :) The scalloped frame is from My Minds Eye.

This one I've used a gorgeous paper by Prima called "Chintzy". I love the pretty colours in this.
I've cut an oval out of the front & backed it with the reverse side of the paper, then added a rub on, Maya Road ribbon flower & beautiful Heidi Swapp bling frame.

This card is my example for the September Card Challenge.
The challenge is to make a card using 2 chipboard embellishments.
My card uses Cosmo Cricket "Hey Sugar" papers & the chipboard heart, covered in paper, is also Cosmo. I've also used a chipboard scalloped strip.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great week :)

CPS #79

The sketch at CPS this week is awesome & you should see all the gorgeous cards the CPS girls have created.
I really enjoyed this one & this is my card:

I've used MME Adore paper, a Prima notepad page & Say It In Crystals swirl.

Thanks for looking :)

Sketch This # 63

I got the chance to play along with the Sketch This sketch again this week.
Here is my take on # 63.

I've used Cosmo Cricket "Hey Sugar" papers & diecuts.
Hope your week is wonderful :)

Chloe's Challenge

I was fortunate enough to enjoy another beautiful Sunday scrapping with my daughter Chloe.
It's so great that we have a shared interest & it's so much fun to spend time together doing what we love.
Chloe was chosen as a guest designer for August at Keep'n the Memories. She has a fantastic card challenge going at the moment to make a card with a journaling card on it.
So in honour of my beautiful, talented daughter I have made this card for her challenge.

I've used Making Memories papers & the cute stickers are by Imaginisce.
Thanks for the inspiration Clo :)

Sketch This #62

What a glorious day it was yesterday. The sun was shining & it was nice & warm.
My daughter & I took advantage of the beautiful weather to enjoy some scrapping together outside on the verandah.
I had a bit of fun with the new Sketch This sketch. I actually ended making 2 from it.
This first one uses all Daisy D's paper.

And the second one is Sassafrass Lass.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend too :)
